Félix Solís Avantis Among the six Best Wineries in the World

The World Ranking of Wines and Spirits (WRWS) gave Felix Solis sixth place in the top 100 Best Wineries of the World and second place in the category ‘Best Wineries of Spain’. The Félix Solís Avantis group comprises the wineries of Félix Solís SL (Castilla-La Mancha) and Pagos del Rey SL, the latter including a collection of boutique wineries in the Denominacion de Origin of Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Rioja and Toro.

These accolades add to many already received making Félix Solís Avantis the most awarded winery in the world with 200 medals and awards. The data collected in the WRWS includes medals obtained in 2016 from prestigious competitions as Berliner Wein Trophy, Mundus Vini, Decanter and the International Wine Challenge.

For the creation of the World Ranking of Wines & Spirits, the prestigious association of wine journalists uses data from national and international competitions whose results are public and the score of each winery is established based on the significance of each contest and the importance of the medals awarded. This is why, in 2016, Félix Solís Avantis achieved 2.917 points, ensuring a position of sixth place in importance worldwide after participating in 12 competitions and obtaining 200 decorations.

With regard to the ranking by country, Spain ranks first with 20 Spanish wineries in the “Top 100 worldwide”, with 5,080 medals obtained in 23 international competitions. According to this classification, Félix Solís Avantis achieved the second best position as best Spanish winery in 2017, only surpassed by González Byass.

These awards at an international level are in recognition of the company’s extraordinary business and professional development, as well as for the quality and competitiveness of its wines. In this sense Félix Solís Ramos, Director of Exportation and Marketing of the company is very pleased with the achievements and states that “sixth place in the world recognises our philosophy, which is to make excellent wines which are also good value for money; the enjoyment of good wines does not have to be reserved for the few”.

World Association of Wine and Spirits Journalists (WAWSJ ) produce this world ranking each year and enjoys great international renown, including the most awarded wines and producers in more than 80 international wine competitions, celebrated in 50 Countries.
